Aleko Farm is situated 6 km away from the city of Pazardjik on the main road Pazardjik - Peshtera, 10 km away from the highway Sofia - Plovdiv. The farm is also only 34 km away from Plovdiv international airport and about 100km from Sofia international airport. The size of the farm is 13 ha. Aleko Farm is 100% owned by "Alfish" Ltd.

The farm was built back in 1978 as a farm producing mainly trout with capacity of 200t/yearly and hatchery for fingerlings with capacity of 10 million/yearly.
In 2001 when "Alfish" Ltd. bought the farm, the company started to restore and develop the fish farming from the beginning. At first the main production started with trout breeding and hatching.
For three years now the main production is sturgeon raising. At first we imported fertilized eggs form Russia and in 2006 for the first time we will try to fertilize and hatch eggs from our fish. For all this we are consulted by the best Russian specialists in sturgeon coming personally to the farm.

All our sturgeon has CITES certificate.

The main water source is from the dam called Batak (330 million m3). The farm uses also water from four different wells with temperature 14 C-19 C. The quality of water is perfect for raising sturgeon. Now we are building RAS for 100t sturgeon and 5t black caviar.
